Records that hold up

A real gradebook for homeschool. Not a spreadsheet you’ll regret in three years.

Weighted categories. Live averages. Term-by-term records that look the way schools expect them to look — built for the moment someone asks for transcripts.

The conversation you don’t want to have unprepared

“Can we see her transcript?”

“I’ve kept records. Of course I have. But are they the kind of records a high school is going to accept? Or did I just create my own colorful filing system?”

Maybe you’ll never need them. Maybe your student goes straight to college on a portfolio. Maybe public school is never on the table. Or maybe one Thursday morning the conversation comes up — a move, a change of heart, a scholarship application — and someone asks for transcripts. You want to be the parent who can hand them over without panicking.

Set up once. Use all year.

Standard structure. No spreadsheet wrangling.

1

Set up your year

Pick a school year. Define your terms (semesters, quarters, trimesters — whatever you use). Choose a grading scale per subject. Done. Once.

2

Enter grades as you go

Record assignments, quizzes, tests under the categories you’ve defined. Type the score. Move on.

3

Watch the math do itself

Subject averages update live. Term averages roll up automatically. Your gradebook always reflects the current state — no end-of-term scramble.

Weighted exactly like a real school

Tests count more than homework. Just like it should be.

Set up the categories you want — Tests, Quizzes, Homework, Projects — and give each one its own weight. A failed quiz doesn’t tank the term average. A nailed final exam pulls things up. The math works the way it works in every actual school in Texas, because that’s how grades are supposed to work.

Different subjects, different scales

Letter grades. Numbers. Percentages. S/N. Your call.

Math is a 100-point subject. Maybe PE is satisfactory / needs improvement. Maybe Music is just pass/fail.

Connected Learning Co. lets you set the grading scale per subject per student — because pretending every subject grades the same way is a fiction nobody believes.

Grades aren’t an island

Every lesson you teach can flow into the gradebook.

When you build a lesson with an assignment, it can land in the gradebook automatically. When you grade it, the term average updates. When your student takes the placement assessment, the results are kept separately from the gradebook so they don’t pollute the official record. Each piece of Connected Learning Co. knows what the other pieces are doing.
